'My
name is
David Peacock and I am a dj from the North East of England the style of
music I play is mostly techno but also some tech house. I play most
types of techno the Swedish Drumcode sound, the Detroit Axis sound and
the Tresor Berlin sound as well as lots of different music in the
Detroit style, deep Echospace music and Basic Channel music through to
fast minimal percussive sometimes tribal techno, and onto harder
hypnotic sounds. I also play the present day slower minimal tech music
on labels like Minus, Perlon and Sleeparchive.
I first got into DJing
when I was
messing about on a friend's turntables... I was instantly hooked. I was
still going to lots of clubs but spent more and more time playing at
friends' parties.
In November 2000 I
entered and won
the Muzik magazine 'Bedroom Bedlam', with what was described as 'easily
one of the best Techno mixes they had heard in ages'. The demo had
started off gradually, building up into some harder Techno. The victory
led to performances at several clubs.
My next competition
success came in
April 2002, when I entered iDJ's 'Reader's Mixes' with a CD described
as 'Soulful Detroit Tech House' (with the emphasis on the word 'Tech').
The mix came a respectable 2nd place.
In April 2003 I once
again entered
iDJ's 'Readers Mixes', this time with a Techno mix, which placed 5th
against strong competition. The mix was described as 'warm' and
'Detroitian' at first, gradually 'transforming itself into peak-time
stuff'.
In April 2005 I
entered iDJ's 'Raw
Talent' competition and won (against equally strong competition!).
Whilst I enjoy
producing mixes for
competitions, my passion is playing to a live audience. Over the years
I've played at many house parties and a number of pubs and clubs. I
would very much like to be considered for bigger venues in exchange for
excellent dj-ing rates.'
An undeniable Techno /
Tech House
talent, we thoroughly recommend David for your venue / party. Check out
his excellent demo for a slice of the future, now!
