Dave Lewis came to the world of DJ’ing late in life not
picking up vinyl until thirty one years of age. Music was always in his
life drumming for many bands and record labels as well as playing the
guitar and performing in front of thousands of people across 13 years
of performing.
When music is in your soul, DJ’ing comes naturally and within
a few months was already out playing live at venues around the
midlands, swopping his vinyl for CD’s. He started playing
Trance but after a short while became gripped by the sound of Electro
House. Trance has never left his soul and many of his mixes which have
been downloaded well over 5000 times in the last 12 months, always play
with a Trance feel.
Dave kept playing gigs every now and again on a hobby basis until 2009
when he was told that it was about time he started to take things a bit
more seriously and try to turn it into a career. He decided to take the
advice to heart and turn his hobby into a career. Before long he was
playing at venues like Air Birmingham as well as Classique in Coventry
playing under such artists as, Sonique, Paul Morrell, Dave Pearce and
Judge Jules. His ability and experience of playing live for so many
years in various formats allows him to instantly understand what the
crowd is looking for and deliver it impeccably every time.
2009 also saw the launch of Danger House which Dave plays a residency
back to back set with Andy Nelson bringing the sound of Electro House
in a big way to Coventry and the crowds came rolling in to see and
listen to something special.
2009 also saw Dave team up with Barry Diston @ Fidget studios (engineer
for artists such as Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Paul Morrell and on
albums such as Euphoria Hard House and having worldwide releases of his
own Hard-House tunes) who has mastered all of his demos and the pair
are collaborating on some new tunes ready for release in 2010.
2009 also saw Dave playing at smaller venues like DV8 (Birmingham),
Mono (Birmingham), Iglu (Coventry), The Glasshouse (Coventry), Eden
(Coventry), The Warehouse (Coventry), Club Rush (Redditch), Original
Four (Leicester), Firebug (Leicester), Careys (Coventry) and many more
as well as a regular internet radio show on a Friday night on
House-mixes radio for a few months.
2010 promises to be a great year for Dave gigs all over the country are
already starting to book in and the promise of taking Danger House to a
new level as well as the release of his first production alongside
Barry Diston.
After many years of playing for different record labels behind the
drums Dave prides himself in his professionalism which is second to
none. No matter what the venue or crowd he brings energy and enthusiasm
to any night, always being one of the most popular DJ’s of
the evening.
